Popolo’s has been in existence at the same location for 18 years! It is tucked away in this perfect little spot at Monterey and Johnson in San Luis Obispo, but many individuals do not know we are here! Every day someone walks into Popolo’s asking, "How long have you been here?" When we respond, "18 years," they can’t believe it!
Once the discovery is made, you can't help but return for another visit and another and another!! If you are looking for delicious healthy choices, try us and let your taste buds be the judge! When you walk in the front door, the smell of home cooked food cannot help but greet you.
The pride of Popolo’s is that everything is made from scratch or better known as "just like home." The recipes are the same as when Popolo’s first opened! You will find our delicious rotisserie chicken, slow cooked for three hours over aged oak wood, flavored with tuscan spices and served daily! The fresh baked foccaccia bread sandwiches are made every morning and you will find specialty chicken sandwiches along with delicious deli meats and cheeses. The traditional salads of Popolo’s complimented by our homemade dressings fill the deli case for you to choose from.
Try our incredible au gratin potatoes or our seasonal sautéed vegetables. Your options are available a la carte, which allows you to choose as much or a little as you’d like. Take dinner home for the entire family or simply stop by for lunch to grab a quick bite to eat. You will be happy to know there is something for everyone at Popolo’s!

About Us:
Popolo’s is family owned and operated. Leon and Kathleen Castillo have been the owners since October 2006. Our daughter Marissa and son Kenny assist with the business behind the scenes and on the front line. You will find the faces of our family at Popolo’s daily. We’re proud and happy to serve you, and we would love to meet you. Please come in! We welcome you at Popolo’s.
Parking:
Don't worry about finding a parking spot! There is no fuss to park with us at Popolo’s. Our parking lot is shared with the Monterey Street Wine Company, The Oriental Market and Kimberly’s Real Estate. There is plenty of parking to go around. You may park and walk only a few steps to our front door. Our parking lot and accessibility to the restaurant is very convenient.
